Exeter Mathematics School, EX1 3PU | 13.30 - 16.00 | Free for WCTSA members / £40 for all other schools
The aim of this workshop is to support KS3 to KS4 teachers to create an appropriately challenging environment in which their students can explore mathematics.
There are many barriers to creating an stimulating level of challenge in mathematics lessons. In this workshop we will explore some of the issues and move on to consider solutions, taking into account research and best practice from around the world. By reviewing available evidence, trialling resources for themselves, and having plenty more ideas to take back to school, teachers should be better equipped to develop a culture of challenge in their own mathematics classrooms.
This interactive workshop will be led by Kerry Burnham and Tom Bowler from Exeter Mathematics School (EMS).
